Jeffrey Gibson
Jeffrey A. Gibson (born March 31, 1972 in Colorado , USA ) is an American painter and sculptor .
Life
Gibson moved frequently as a child with his family, who are descended from the Choctaw and Cherokee tribes . For example, he also lived in Germany and Korea . In 1995 he graduated from the Art Institute of Chicago with a Bachelor of Fine Art . In 1998 he was at the Royal College of Art in London the MA win. The study in London was made possible for him by the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians .
Gibson was artist in residence at Bard College, New York, teaching Studio Art . In 2010 he was visiting professor at the California College of the Arts .
Gibson has lived and worked in Hudson, New York, with his husband, the Norwegian sculptor Rune Olsen , since 1999 .
