Jelena Nikolić ( Serbian - Cyrillic Јелена Николић ; born April 13, 1982 in Belgrade , Yugoslavia ) is a Serbian volleyball player .

Career

Jelena Nikolić played in 2006 for the Serbian-Montenegrin national team , with which she reached third place at the World Cup in Japan . The outside attacker was active in the Serbian national team from 2007 to 2016 . She took part in the Olympic Games twice, ranked fifth in Beijing in 2008 and won the silver medal in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 . In addition, Nikolić was 2007 European silver medalist and 2011 European champion . There were also three victories in the Europa League in 2009 , 2010 and 2011 .

Nikolić played for the following clubs from 1997 to 2019: OK Obilić Belgrad , Pallavolo Reggio Emilia , Foppapedretti Bergamo , Minetti Infoplus Vicenza , RC Cannes (2005 French champion and cup winner), Toray Arrows, Megius Volley Padua , Takefuji Bamboo and Vakıfbank Güneş Sigorta İstanbul ( 2011 Champions League winner). After an injury and baby break from 2011 to 2013, Nikolić played at Vakıfbank İstanbul (2013 club world champion, 2014 Turkish champion and cup winner), Azeryol Baku , Bursa BBSK, Metalleghe Montichiari and Türk Hava Yolları SK.

Nikolić has received several individual awards at various international competitions (“Most Valuable Player”, “Best Attacker” etc.).

Private

Nikolić is married to the Serbian national handball player Petar Nenadić . The two have had a son, Aleksa, since 2013.
