Jennifer Diane Grant (born February 26, 1966 in Burbank , Los Angeles County , California ) is an American actress . She is the only child of actors Cary Grant and Dyan Cannon .

Life

Grant's parents, Cary Grant and Dyan Cannon , divorced when she was two years old. Jennifer Grant was closely related to her father until his death in 1986. Since her father did not want her to be an actress, she tried other professions for several years. As a teenager she was a babysitter, while in high school and on hiatus from college, she worked in a store warehouse, as a cashier and waitress. After graduating from Stanford University in American Studies in 1987, she worked for a law firm and then worked as a cook at Wolfgang Puck's Spago Restaurant in Beverly Hills . When her father died in 1986, he left her with half of his several million dollars worth of fortune, the other half inherited from her stepmother, Barbara Harris Grant, with whom she has a close relationship.

Acting career

In 1993, seven years after the death of her father, Cary Grant, Jennifer Grant had her first acting role on the Aaron Spelling television series Beverly Hills, 90210 , in which she played the recurring role of Celeste Lundy . She guest-starred in a variety of television series including Time Trax and Friends , and later took on a number of roles in motion pictures. In 1999 she played a major role in the sitcom Movie Stars .

In 2011 she published her memoir under the title Good Stuff: a Reminiscence of My Father, Cary Grant . Good Stuff is a portrait of her relationship with her father, who was 62 years old when she was born and died twenty years later. The title refers to one of Cary Grant's favorite expressions that he used when okay with things or happy with situations.

Jennifer Grant was married to television director and producer Randy Zisk for three years until she divorced him in 1996. Grant volunteered as an actress and mentor for the Young Storytellers Foundation . In 2008 Grant's son was born.
