Jens Fischer (musician)

Jens Fischer is a guitarist from Hamburg . He composes film music and experimental guitar music for his own live projects.

Career

In 1978, after completing his classical music studies, Jens Fischer co-founded the German-Indian group Tri Atma. As a stage and studio musician, he worked with Inga Rumpf , Georgie Red and Falco, among others . He accompanied Eberhard Schoener to his multimedia events in Tokyo , Bali and Sydney . On these trips he played with Australian Aborigines and a Balinese gamelan orchestra.

He has been composing music for TV productions, documentaries and radio plays since 1990.

His solo projects have an experimental, independent character and are characterized by his virtuosity on the acoustic guitar.

As early as the 1980s he was increasingly linking his guitar playing with visual art forms, such as in the performance “Meeting point” with the American painter Nancy Ostrovsky. On the occasion of the Expo 2000 he made music for an art installation, later a live performance “momentaufnahme.net” on pictures by Norbert Stolze and he also worked on The Element Project for TRIP - Remix your Experience . His latest audiovisual project "Metavista" is regularly performed in the Mediendom Kiel.
