Jens Kersten

Jens Kersten (* 1967 in Marburg an der Lahn ) has been Professor of Public Law and Administrative Science at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich since 2008 .

Kersten studied law at the Universities of Heidelberg , Leeds (UK) and Bonn . He passed his first state examination in law in 1994 in Cologne. The second in 1998 in Berlin. He is a student of Ulrich Battis . In his dissertation he dealt with the state theory of Georg Jellinek , in his habilitation , which he submitted to the Humboldt University of Berlin in 2004 , he dealt with human cloning . Further main areas of activity are building law and regional planning law .

He was a member of the ethics committee of the Charité in Berlin.

From 2012 to 2013 he was Carson Professor at the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and previously from 2007 to 2008 Professor of Public Law and Business Law at the University of Bayreuth and from 2006 to 2007 Professor of Spatial Planning Environmental law at the Technical University of Dortmund .
