Jens Petersen (born March 20, 1976 in Pinneberg ) is a German writer and doctor .

life and work

After studying in Munich , Lima , New York , Florence and Buenos Aires , Petersen lives as a doctor in Zurich . In literary terms, the author initially emerged with stories , especially in anthologies for young people . He has received numerous awards for his novel project The Housekeeper . According to the judgment of the aspects jury in 2005, Petersen describes in this generational novel "unsentimental, straightforward and yet multi-layered the story of a father-son relationship on a knife's edge". At the Klagenfurt Competition in 2009 , Petersen was awarded the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize .
