Jens Weckbach (born July 23, 1970 in Flörsheim am Main ) is a former German lightweight rower and today's local politician ( CDU ).

Life

Sports

Weckbach started for the Flörsheimer rowing club 08 . He won three German championship titles , a gold medal at the U23 World Championships in 1992 in lightweight double sculls , and a silver medal at the 1995 World Championships in lightweight double sculls. At the Universiade in 1993 he won gold in the lightweight double scull.

politics

Weckbach is a volunteer local politician in his hometown of Flörsheim am Main. Weckbach has been a member of the Flörsheim local advisory board and a member of the CDU parliamentary group since 2017 . In October 2019 he was elected chairman of the CDU Flörsheim am Main.

Private

Weckbach is married and has one son . After his career as a rower, he became a manager in the computer industry .
