Jeronimo Voss (* 1981 in Hamm ) is a German installation artist .

life and work

Jeronimo Voss studied communication design at the University of Essen until 2002 . He then studied fine arts until 2009 at the HfBK Städelschule in the free class and with Tobias Rehberger . In 2014 Voss was a guest lecturer at the University of Art and Design in Basel.

“Jeronimo Voss is interested in the narrative qualities of projection equipment . In many of his works, the artist falls back on technical, formal principles of phantasmagoria . Using restored glass images of the historical Laterna Magica as well as digitally processed images, he creates contemporary film installations and photo collages . Voss uses the means of montage to combine historical worldviews, political theories and observations of urban development. In this way, socially critical as well as poetic works are created, which merge the social with the built space, ideas of an infinite space with images of the cosmos as well as the past, present and future.
