Jesus Fuertes

Jesús Fuertes Gomez (born April 14, 1938 in Madrid , † June 18, 2006 in Miami , Florida ) was a Spanish painter .

In his early years Fuertes met the artists Salvador Dalí , André Breton and the writer Federico García Lorca and later in France Pablo Picasso . At the age of 15 he had his first public exhibition in Berlin. He had a close friendship with Picasso, and later followed him to Paris.

The cubist works of Fuertes are exhibited worldwide and impress with their bright blue colors. The main focus of his choice of motifs are women and cats.

He died in Miami of complications from a heart attack.
