Jesús Sanz Montes OFM (born January 18, 1955 in Madrid ) is a Spanish priest and Archbishop of Oviedo .

Life

Jesús Sanz Montes joined the religious order of the Franciscans (OFM) , made his profession on September 14, 1985 and was ordained a priest on September 20, 1986 . Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Jaca and Bishop of Huesca on October 23, 2003 .

He received his episcopal ordination on December 14th of the same year by the Archbishop of Madrid , Antonio María Cardinal Rouco Varela ; Co- consecrators were Cardinal Carlos Amigo Vallejo , Archbishop of Seville , and Elías Yanes Álvarez , Archbishop of Saragossa .

As a motto he chose Christ Omnia in Omnibus . He was appointed Archbishop of Oviedo on November 21, 2009 and was introduced to the office on January 30 of the next year.
