Jessica McNamee (born June 16, 1986 in Sydney , New South Wales ) is an Australian actress .

life and career

Jessica McNamee was born in the Australian metropolis of Sydney. Her older sister Penny McNamee and her niece Teagan Croft are also active as actresses today. In 2007 she made her acting debut in the Australian soap Home and Away , which she made known to a wider audience in her homeland in the role of Lisa Duffy . After her engagement in Home and Away , she took a supporting role as Sammy Rafter in Die Chaosfamilie , another soap, a year later , which she played until 2013. In 2009 she took on a supporting role as Mia in the Australian horror film production The Loved Ones - Pretty in Blood , which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival 2009 .

In 2012 McNamee appeared in the role of Gwen in the romantic drama Forever Love , on the side of Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum , through which she first became known to an international audience. She then appeared in the series White Collar and The Time of Our Lives . In 2014 she was cast in the role of the police officer Theresa Kelly in a leading role in the series Sirens , which she played until the removal after the second season. In 2017, McNamee first appeared as Lindsey Taylor in a supporting role in the comedy film CHiPs . She then portrayed the former Australian tennis player Margaret Court in the biopic Battle of the Sexes . In 2018, she played the ex-wife of Jason Statham 's Jonas Taylor in the science fiction film Meg .

In Mortal Kombat , planned for 2021 , McNamee will play the role of Sonya Blade .

Personal

In April 2019, McNamee married real estate developer Patrick Caruso.
