Into the Dark is an American horror - television series of Blum House Television . The series, conceived as an anthology , consists of full-length episodes that are published monthly and each deal with a special day in that month. The first release took place on October 5, 2018 at the streaming provider Hulu . The German premiere took place on 5 September 2019 the Pay TV transmitter AXN instead.

In August 2019, Hulu extended the series by a second season with again twelve episodes, which are to appear following the first season from October 2019 to September 2020.

As an anthology series, Into The Dark tells an independent, self-contained story with a changing cast with each episode. The episodes are each about a specific holiday or other special days. Most of the action takes place for the most part on that holiday, which is celebrated by the characters, or the subject of the holiday is taken up as a theme. This includes public holidays such as Christmas, other public holidays such as Father's and Mother's Day and unofficial days of action such as April 1st.

The first film in the series, Halloween (originally The Body ), had its world premiere on September 21, 2018 at the LA Film Festival . The film I fuck with 'you but only (in the original I'm Just F * cking With You ) was first on 10 March 2019 at the Film Festival South by Southwest in Texas Austin shown.

In Germany, the film New Year, New You (in the Original New Year, New You ) was shown by AXN at the Fantasy Filmfest 2019 from September 8 to 22, 2019 .

The first season achieved a rating of 6.3 on IMDb , a critic rating of 73 on Rotten Tomatoes and an audience rating of 66 percent. The July 2019 episode Culture Shock has a rating of 100 percent based on 16 evaluated reviews.
