Margaret Cassidy "Maggie" Lawson (born August 12, 1980 in Louisville , Kentucky ) is an American actress .

life and career

Lawson performed in amateur theater as a child and worked as a children's news anchor for a local television station. As a teenager, she moved to Los Angeles , where she appeared on various television series, mostly sitcoms . She graduated from high school by distance learning .

In the television comedy Help, I'm a Supermodel! (2000) starred Lawson; Justin Timberlake played one of the supporting roles . In the mystery television film Nancy Drew - In Search of Truth (2002) she played the lead role of the student Nancy Drew. In 2003 and 2004, she starred in the sitcom Absolutely Relative to Liz Stoddard-Banks, an engaged student. In 2004 followed a leading role in the television film Love Rules! , in which she and Joey Lawrence play a pre-wedding couple.

From 2006 to 2014 she played the role of Juliet O'Hara in the crime series Psych , which she retaken in 2017 in Psych: The Movie . She was in a relationship with leading actor James Roday while filming the series. In the fall of 2013 she was in the short-lived ABC - Comedy Series Trouble with the Curve as Terry Gannon, a single mother and former softball player to see. Here she met Ben Koldyke, whom she married in August 2015. In 2017 the couple divorced.

Lawson has had guest roles on several sitcoms including Two and a Half Men , The Great Indoors, and The Ranch since 2014 . In 2017 she also starred in two Hallmark Channel films, My Favorite Wedding and Christmas Encore . In addition to acting, Lawson is committed to animal welfare and, together with Jude McVay, founded the non-profit animal rescue organization The Tiger Frances Foundation in 2014 .
