Jessica von Bredow-Werndl (born February 16, 1986 as Jessica Werndl ) is a German dressage rider .

Career

In 2002 she became double European junior champion, at the 2004 European Young Rider Championships in Aarhus she won the gold medal in singles and the silver medal with the team.

In 2014 she was appointed to the A-squad (today Olympic squad ) and shortly afterwards won her first World Cup test in Gothenburg, and at the World Cup final in Lyon she finished seventh.

In 2015 she rode for Germany at the European Championships in Aachen , where she won the bronze medal with the team, in the individual she rode in seventh place. Also in 2015 she took third place at the World Cup final in Las Vegas , which she achieved again in 2016 in Gothenburg. As the second reserve rider, she narrowly missed qualifying for the 2016 Olympic Games .

In 2018 she again finished third at the World Cup finals in Paris with Unee BB . At the German championships in Balve, she achieved bronze with Dalera and fourth place in the freestyle with Zaire . In July she also won the Nations Cup at the CHIO Aachen with the German team . Two months later at the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon , she won the gold medal with the German team at her first World Equestrian Games in the saddle of TSF Dalera BB and reached 13th place in the Grand Prix Spécial (the Grand Prix Freestyle was canceled due to Hurricane Florence ) At the European Championships a year later , Dalera had again improved significantly in terms of performance, in addition to the team gold medal, von Bredow-Werndl also won individual bronze in the Grand Prix Freestyle with a new best of 89.107%.

In May 2020 she was 4th with Dalera and 13th with Zaire in the world rankings. With these two horses she is also in the Olympic squad for 2020.

Von Bredow-Werndl is married to Max von Bredow, with whom she has a son.

After graduating from high school, Werndl studied marketing and communication at the SMI in Berlin via distance learning. Together with her brother Benjamin, she runs Gut Aubenhausen, a training and dressage stable, near Rosenheim .
