Jesus Christ Superstar (Album)
Jesus Christ Superstar is the music album version of the musical Jesus Christ Superstar , described by the two authors Andrew Lloyd Webber (music) and Tim Rice (text) as a rock opera , released in October 1970, which subsequently became famous as a stage production and as a film .
The album was produced by the two authors and in London a. a. Recorded at Olympic Sound Studios in Barnes and Island Studios (later: SARM Studios). It was released as a double LP in October 1970 and reached number 1 on the Billboard charts . It was released as a double CD in 1991 and was re-released in 1996, remastered .
