The Jeton is a very fast two-man racing dinghy with trapeze and spinnaker .
history
The crack of the token goes back to the boat designed by Uwe Mares for the competition for the Olympic one-handed trapeze dinghy. Its 15.5 m² sail area plus 16.5 m² spinnaker and its flat shell give it optimal speed on all courses and excellent gliding properties. The large width (1.82 m) gives the token a high degree of dimensional stability.
The token was designed in 1970 by Uwe Mares and Hubert Raudaschl and first built by the Klepper shipyard in Rosenheim . After this shipyard ceased production in 1980 after a fire in the production hall, the token was built by the pit shipyard.
In 1986/87 the token was modernized by active sailors. Since 1995, a further optimized version with an improved number of yardsticks (105 instead of 107) has been built at the Hein shipyard (Kölln-Reisiek / Elmshorn / Hamburg), after a shipyard that emerged from a GDR operation stopped production after only two years in 1994 .
The class association "ASJETON" has held the building license since 2004 . The token is constantly being improved and developed. The new regatta token has a spinnaker trumpet , an extended foredeck and a Y-bulkhead. It is manufactured using the GRP sandwich process, with a wooden deck on request. The token is recognized as a national class in the German Sailing Association (DSV).
hull
The fuselage is made of GRP in a sandwich construction with a half double bottom and Y-bulkhead . Due to the robust construction, the old hulls from Klepper enjoy a unique longevity and are still suitable for regatta sailing today.
