The Jetztmusik Festival is a music festival taking place in Mannheim that combines electronic music with other art forms such as film, literature, dance or the performing arts and presents it in different, often unconventional locations. It has been held annually at the end of March since 2007.

The Jetztmusik Festival arose from the endeavor to overcome existing genre boundaries and to enable unusual aesthetic experiences by combining different art forms. Electronic music is presented on an equal footing with classical music and other genres. The festival program includes not only musical contributions, but also readings, dance performances and film screenings. In this context, the experimental combination of different arts is intended to address a diverse audience that otherwise rarely comes together in this form.

In recent years, musicians who can be classified at the interface between electronic music and other musical genres have been guests: Stefan Goldmann , Elektro Guzzi , DJ Stachy , Dominik Eulberg , Kammerflimmer Kollektief , Kollektiv Turmstrasse , Move D , Aural Float , Jacques Palminger , Raphaël Marionneau , Moritz Eggert , Bernhard Fleischmann, Niobe, RadioMentale , Demdike Stare , Pulshar, Disharmonic Balance, No Accident in Paradise, Piano Interrupted, Trees in Reverse, Disco Monique, Studio Électronique, Pathetic Waste of Talent and many more.

Renowned authors also appeared in readings, some of which were accompanied by music: Thomas Meinecke , Anton Waldt , Markus Kavka , Carl Weissner , Lee Hollis , Dietmar Dath , Ewald Palmetshofer , Stefan Römer , Robin Felder and many more.

The events take place at different locations in Mannheim. In addition to the well-known venues for music, dance and literature, such as the Alte Feuerwache , the Nationaltheater Mannheim or zeitexit , some of the program items are taken out of their traditional performance context and brought to unconventional locations.

A recurring event is, for example, the Cinemix, where silent film classics are set to music live by artists in the Atlantis Cinema. In the Mannheim Planetarium , auditory and visual impressions were mixed. The Herschelbad or many of the local galleries have also acted as venues for the Jetztmusik Festival. In 2013, artists appeared in the Luisenpark Mannheim in the gondolettas floating on the Kutzerweiher for their passengers.
