Career

Club career

Bílek started playing football at Sparta Prague . At the age of 17, the midfielder was loaned to the then second division club Spolana Neratovice in order to gain match practice. In two years Bílek came on 34 missions in which he scored a goal.

In the summer of 2003 Bílek moved, again on loan, to the first division club Chmel Blšany . There he was mostly part of the starting line-up and by the end of 2005 had 66 missions in which he scored one goal.

In January 2006 Jiří Bílek was signed by Slovan Liberec and was able to celebrate winning the Czech championship in May 2006. In just under three years he made 86 appearances and four hits. At the beginning of 2009, Michal Bílek's nephew moved to the German second division club 1. FC Kaiserslautern . However, he made his debut for the Palatinate on matchday 31 against FC Augsburg under interim coach Alois Schwartz . He had previously been suspended under Milan Šašić and was only used in the second team.

During the 2009/10 season he became a regular player and played his part in the promotion of FCK to the Bundesliga . Bílek was characterized above all by his fighting spirit and was one of the reasons why he was a popular player with the fans. In the first half of the 2010/11 season he was part of the starting eleven, but had to make way for his rivals Oliver Kirch and Thanos Petsos in the first half of the season . Despite fluctuations in the form of his competitors in his position, Bílek was no longer used from April 2011 and finally suggested a change of club during the winter break of 2011/12. In January 2012, Bílek moved to Zagłębie Lubin in the Polish Ekstraklasa .

National team

Bílek has so far been used in the Czech U-20 and U-21 selection .
