Jim Miller (film editor)

Jim W. Miller (* in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American film editor .

Life

After the Chicago native Miller took his first steps in the production and editing of television commercials and industrial films, he moved to Los Angeles to become a freelance film editor. After he had assisted the editor Dede Allen on the feature film The Breakfast Club in 1985 , he was allowed to direct a film editing for the first time in 1988 with Milagro - Der Krieg im Bohnenfeld .

He has been working together for many years, particularly with the American director Barry Sonnenfeld , since 1991. He not only edited the Addams Family , The Addams Family in Crazy Tradition and Snatch Shorty , but also the two Will Smith films Men in Black and Wild Wild West . However, he had his greatest success at the side of editor Paul Rubell when he edited collateral with him and was nominated for both an Oscar and a BAFTA Award .

Jim Miller's brother Thomas Miller is also editor.
