Jimmy Arias (born August 16, 1964 in Buffalo , New York State ) is a retired American tennis player .

Career

His most successful year was 1983 when, as a 19-year-old player, he reached the semifinals of the US Open , won the Italian Open in Rome and three other tournaments and ended the year in 6th place in the tennis world rankings . In September 1984 he reached his highest place in the world rankings with number 5.

In 1994 Arias ended his career after 14 years of professional tennis and five tournament wins.
