José Higueras (born March 1, 1953 in Granada ) is a former Spanish tennis player and now a coach.

Like so many Spaniards, Higueras was a clay court specialist. One of the highlights of his career was winning the German Open at Rothenbaum in Hamburg in 1982 .

After his career as a player, Jose Higueras became a tennis coach. He trained many world-class players (including Michael Chang at the French Open victory in 1989, Jim Courier , Pete Sampras and Todd Martin ) and runs a tennis academy in California . In 2008 he looked after Roger Federer .
