Live and act

Reiter has lived in Osnabrück since he was a child , where he learned classical guitar at the conservatory from the age of ten. As a teenager he switched to the electric guitar and took lessons from Todor Todorovic of the Blues Company . Since the early 1990s he has been a regular guest at the weekly Blue Monday session , which initially took place in the trendy Pink Piano pub . Here Reiter got to know musicians like Angela Brown , Christian Rannenberg and Keith Dunn, who soon hired him as a guitarist for their own performances. Also at the Pink Piano in 1999 Reiter made the acquaintance of Washington singer and blues harp player Doug Jay , whose band Doug Jay & the Blue Jays he joined the following year. In the following ten years the band toured Europe extensively and recorded two albums for the Bremen label CrossCut Records .

From 2008, Reiter held the job of guitarist for the Bluesnight Band for several years , which accompanied international artists such as Larry Garner , Darrell Nulish , Sydney Youngblood and Ron Williams during their performances in Germany. In 2011 Reiter released his solo debut High Priest of Nothing , which was recorded with musical companions from different bands. The album was included in the PdSK leaderboard in the fourth quarter of 2011 . From the studio cast of High Priest of Nothing , the crystallized Jimmy Reiter strip out the 2015 album Told You So grossed. In a review by the specialist magazine bluesnews it was said that it was “a multi-faceted blues album that unites a clear orientation towards genre traditions with a fresh sound costume to create a coherent whole”.

In March 2016, Jimmy Reiter received the BiG Blues Award for the best contemporary blues artist of 2015. In July 2017 the Jimmy Reiter Band won the German Blues Award as the best German blues band.

In addition to appearing with his own band, Reiter is often on stage as a guitarist with other artists such as Albie Donnelly , Dede Priest and Memo Gonzalez and is hired for studio recordings, including Big Daddy Wilson , Chad Strentz and Dede Priest. As a guitarist, he also made some contributions to the studio albums of Osnabrück entertainer Christian Steiffen .
