Jo Willems
Jo Alfons Willems (born November 1970 in Westerlo , Belgium) is a Belgian cameraman .
Life
After graduating from school in Westerlo, Jo Alfons Willems studied at the Institut Saint-Luc for a few years before moving to London to study at the London International Film School ( LIFS ). Willems wanted to become a director at the beginning of his studies, but decided to switch to a camera very early on. After about eight years in London he participated in the Green Card Lottery of the United States in part, won a green card and moved with his wife to Los Angeles .
Since the short film 60 Seconds , Willems has been a cameraman in productions such as 30 Days of Night , Shopaholic - Die Schnäppchenjägerin and, most recently, Without Limit . In addition to making films, Willems has also worked as a cameraman on a number of music videos including Justin Timberlake's Cry Me A River , Linkin Park's Shadow of the day, and Will Smith's Switch . He was also a cameraman in commercials on ESPN , Nintendo and Xbox .
Jo Willems lives in Los Angeles with his wife Karen, with whom he has two daughters.
