Joachim Spatz (politician)

Joachim Spatz (born January 5, 1964 in Rück-Schippach ) is a German politician ( FDP ) and was a member of the German Bundestag . Since February 7, 2012, he has been the successor to Michael Georg Link, European policy spokesman for the FDP parliamentary group . In the 12th legislative period he belonged to the Bavarian State Parliament .

Life

After graduation in 1983 at the Hermann-Staudinger-Gymnasium Erlenbach and the subsequent military service he started in 1984 when a fellow of studienstiftung and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation , the study of mathematics at the University of Würzburg , which he in 1989 with a degree in mathematics completed. From 1989 to 1990 he worked as a research assistant at the University of Würzburg. Joachim Spatz joined the FDP in 1987, was chairman of the Liberal University Group at the University of Würzburg from 1988 to 1989, and in 1989 was a member of the state board of Bavarian Young Liberals .

From 1991 to 2013 he was a member of the state board of the FDP Bavaria . From 1995 to 2013 he was district chairman of the FDP district association of Lower Franconia. Spatz ran in the 2009 election to the German Bundestag in the Würzburg city and state constituency . He was defeated in the election to the Lower Franconian FDP top candidate, but ran successfully at state level and was able to reach number 8 on the state list.

In the 2009 Bundestag election , Spatz was able to move into the Bundestag due to the good election results of the FDP in Germany and Bavaria. Because the FDP failed to pass the five percent hurdle , he was not represented in the 18th Bundestag .

Spatz has been a member of the Würzburg city ​​council since 1996 and headed the FDP parliamentary group there until March 2010.

In the state elections in 1990, Joachim Spatz was elected to the Bavarian state parliament via the district list of Lower Franconia . He was a member of the following committees:

From 2009 to 2013 Spatz was a member of the German Bundestag and a member of the FDP parliamentary group there . He was a full member of the Defense Committee , the Committee on European Union Affairs and the Subcommittee on European Union Affairs . He was also the first deputy in the budget committee and a deputy member in the foreign affairs committee . On December 18, 2009, the German Bundestag elected him to the parliamentary body under Section 3 of the Federal Debt Management Act ( federal financing body ). Since March 16, 2010, he has chaired the subcommittee on “Civilian Crisis Prevention and Networked Security” .
