Joakim Göthberg (born June 11, 1974 ), also known as Jocke Göthberg , Joakim Af Gravf , Joakim As Grave , Joakim AF Grave and Joakim Grave , is a Swedish musician and producer. He is known, among other things, as a former member of Marduk and was also a guest musician with In Flames . He sees the drums as his main instrument.

Life

Göthberg bought his first LP, Unmasked by Kiss , in 1980 at the age of six . He started playing drums at the age of ten. At the age of twelve or thirteen he had his first band, The Hunters, which consisted of him on drums and a singer who played punk pieces together . Later he bought a bass and an amplifier and played one of his first “real” bands, Speed Limit; Its members now play for Axenstar, other successors include Tarmludd, the heavy metal / punk band Escape, in which Göthberg played, Juw and Latrin.

In the early 1990s Göthberg played drums with Darkified and Marduk; at Darkified he also did the backing vocals. With Marduk he took over the vocals on the second album Those of the Unlight in addition to the drums instead of Andreas Axelsson; on the successor he was exclusively a singer, while the drums were taken over by Fredrik Andersson. After that he left the band because he was "getting bored" and was replaced by Legion . He was also singing on the Miscreant promo tape at the time, where two of his former teammates from Speed Limit played, and played guitar with Bizzarré Scums.

In 1996 Göthberg joined the band Dimension Zero, founded by In-Flames members Jesper Strömblad and Glenn Ljungström . According to Göthberg, it is “a hundred percent real band”, but initially more like “a bunch with a project character”. In the same year he also contributed the lyrics to the in-flames album The Jester Race and played a thrash / death metal album with his two friends from Speed Limit, Axenrot and Miscreant under the name Soulcrushed , which remained unreleased.

2001 Göthberg produced the pieces of tape on their Pitchcan Split - EP with The Nifters. In 2003 he sang Marduk's appearance at the Party.San with Legion The Black… ; in the same year he played there with Dimension Zero. Göthberg's guest appearance can be seen on the DVD Funeral Marches and Warsongs . His guest appearance was followed by rumors that he would be returning to Marduk when the band split from Legion; however, he was not interested in a return and was not asked by its founder Morgan Håkansson . In 2004 he became the drummer for the band Nifters after producing their album Cognitive Eclipse and their drummer quit. Although he was not interested in returning to Marduk, he sang the song Cold Mouth Prayer with their current singer Mortuus , which appeared on the 2007 album Rom 5:12 .

Göthberg also played in numerous unknown projects and bands such as the country project Mr. Walker & The Hitman, the improvised black metal project Bellum, the rock band The Chainsaw, the doom metal band Grimorium and the grindcore band Rotten Remains.
