Joanna Nittenberg

Joanna Nittenberg (* 1942 in Lemberg ) is an Austrian journalist .

Life

Joanna Nittenberg grew up as a refugee child in Vienna-Leopoldstadt and was a member of the Hashomer Hatzair . She graduated with the Rector Minna salmon on girls' school in the Haizingergasse in Vienna Währing . In 1970 she completed her studies in German and newspaper studies at the University of Vienna with a dissertation on the world stage's journalistic engagement with the Weimar Republic , with a special focus on Kurt Tucholsky . After subsequently working in the culture department of the ORF , she took over the management of the Illustrierte Neue Welt , initially together with Marta S. Halpert , who left in 1991, of which she is editor-in-chief and publisher to this day. Nittenberg also holds numerous functions in Jewish and Zionist associations, for example on the board of the Jewish Institute for Adult Education and the Austrian Friends of Beit Hatefutsot . Joanna Nittenberg has two children.
