Joanna Trollope CBE (born December 9, 1943 in Minchinhampton , Gloucestershire ) is a British writer and romantic novelist.

Life

Joanna Trollope is broadly related to the English writer Anthony Trollope . She attended a school in Reigate and studied at St Hugh's College of Oxford University .

From 1966 to 1983 she was married to the banker David Roger William Potter. They have two daughters. From 1985 to 2001 she was married to the screenwriter Ian Curteis, both marriages were divorced. She lives in London.

Trollope did various teaching jobs and became a freelance writer in 1980. She has written a large number of novels, some of which have been turned into television films. She has published four more novels under the pseudonym Caroline Harvey. The writer and literary critic Terence Blacker referred to her in 1992 as the "Queen of the Aga Saga" for her novels, which are set in the middle-class rural environment. The warmth of the AGA stove creates a cozy atmosphere there.
