Jodie Turner-Smith

Jodie Turner-Smith (born September 7, 1986 in Peterborough , Cambridgeshire , England ) is a British actress and model .

Life

Turner-Smith grew up in Peterborough, England, as the daughter of a Jamaican family. She has two sisters and one brother.

In 2009 she moved to Los Angeles after Pharrell Williams approached her at a concert with his band NERD and convinced her that she should be in front of the camera. In 2013 she got her first role as Siren in the television series True Blood . This was followed by roles in the television series Mad Dogs , Nicolas Winding Refn's horror thriller The Neon Demon and music videos by MGMT ( Cool Song No. 2 ), Devendra Banhart ( for Hildegard von Bingen ) and Zayn ( Pillowtalk ).

In 2018 she got the role of Melantha Jhirl in the television series Nightflyers .

Turner-Smith lives in Los Angeles. In December 2019, she married Canadian actor Joshua Jackson . Their daughter was born in April 2020.
