Joe Dixie
Joe Dixie (born September 2, 1924 in Dresden as Hans Drechsler ; † August 2, 1992 in Munich ) was a German jazz and entertainment musician who also worked as an arranger , film composer and music producer .

Dixie studied at the conservatory in his hometown and founded the Dresden Dance Symphony in 1946 , which he directed until he fled to the West (1950). From 1951 he worked as a pianist and arranger for the RIAS and the SFB . Among other things, he led the vocal quartet Ping-Pongs and took part in recordings by Rolf Kühn and Macky Kasper in 1953 . He later led his own orchestra, such as a swing group that worked for Ariola .
