Joe Mantello
Joseph "Joe" Mantello (born December 27, 1962 in Rockford , Illinois ) is an American actor and theater director . He is particularly known for his staging of the musicals Wicked , Take Me Out and Assassins .
Life
Joe Mantello grew up in a Roman Catholic family in Rockford, Illinois. He studied acting at the North Carolina School of the Arts . He founded the Edge Theater in New York City with actress Mary-Louise Parker and writer Peter Hedges . Mantello is a member of Naked Angels Theater and a freelance artist with the Roundabout Theater Company . From 1990 to 2002, Mantello dated actor Jon Robin Baitz .
