Joel Brandenstein (born February 26, 1984 ) is a German pop singer from Ratingen , who became known on the Internet.

biography

Joel Brandenstein started publishing music on the internet around 2008. In May 2011 he opened a YouTube channel with a cover version of Whatever you want by Marlon Knauer , in which he accompanied himself on the piano. In the following years, numerous other Internet videos with German and English-language ballads followed. Almost a dozen of them achieved seven-digit access numbers, with his version of Wolke 7 by Max Herre he came to over 6 million views.

In 2014 Joel Brandenstein started his own initiative to publish his debut single. He advertised the self-written song Die Liebe on his website and put it on the download shops. He also produced a real music video that was posted on YouTube a few days after sales began. Despite the limited reach of its Internet advertising, the song published on December 14, 2014 was in high demand and reached the top 5 of the iTunes charts in Germany in the first few days and was also successful in Switzerland and Austria. During Christmas week the song entered the top 20 of the German charts.

It wasn't until the second half of the following year that two more successful songs followed: Grenzlos and Lebenskraft . In 2016 he was remembered with two collaborations, including the cover of Never Forget by Glasperlenspiel together with Fuju , with lower chart positions. Almost two and a half years after his debut, Brandenstein's debut album Emotionen was released on Starwatch Entertainment ( ProSiebenSat.1 Media ) in April 2017 . He immediately reached number one in the German album charts and top 20 positions in Austria and Switzerland. The album tour that followed sold out in a very short time and was extended by 20 appearances.

On May 8, 2020, Brandenstein released the duet Der Himmel tears with the German pop singer Vanessa Mai . The single immediately reached position 89 in the German single charts . Brandenstein reached the single charts for the first time in four years. Most recently, in May 2016 , he entered the German single charts with Until my world closes the eyes .

Brandenstein professes to be a devout Christian.
