Joel Bregonis , full name Joel Iván Bregonis Mundo , (born January 23, 1996 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

society

The 1.82 meter tall defensive player Bregonis had been a member of the youth division of Uruguay's first division club Nacional Montevideo since at least 2013 . In the Primera División , however, he was not used, but was last used in the Cuarta División . In September 2014, the Bregonis, represented by Agustín Manzione , left the club after the two parties failed to reach a contractual agreement with the intention of continuing his career in Brazil's second division. In November 2014 he signed a one and a half year contract with SC Internacional . Since at least the end of July 2016 he has been playing for the youth team (Formativas) of the Tercera División of the Uruguayan first division club Defensor Sporting . In the 2017 season he was a member of the Boston River first division squad . There he made his debut on July 7, 2017 in the 0-1 home defeat against Plaza Colonia in the top Uruguayan league when he was appointed to the starting line-up by coach Alejandro Apud . So far (as of July 13, 2017) he has played a first division game (no goal).

National team

Bregonis took part with the Uruguayan U-17 selection at the U-17 South American Championship 2013 in Argentina . With the team, he finished fourth in the tournament. In October 2013 he was part of the Uruguayan squad at the 2013 U-17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates . There he reached the quarter-finals with the team. He was used in five World Cup matches. He scored a goal.

Bregonis at least since March 2014 Member of the coach fabián coito supervised Uruguayan U-20 national team . On April 15, 2014, he came on as a substitute for Mauricio Lemos in the 3-0 win over Chile in the 75th minute of the game . He was also used in the international match against Paraguay on May 20, 2014.
