Johan Danielsen

Christian Sofus Johan Helenius Danielsen (born June 25, 1888 in Tórshavn , Faroe Islands , † July 6, 1953 ibid) was postmaster of the Faroe Islands and a politician of the Sambandsflokkurin .

Johan was the son of Anna Sofie, née Larsen and Christian Cornelius Danielsen. He was married to Margretha, née Müller from Tórshavn.

In 1904 he started working for the Faroese Post Office and from 1922 was the postmaster of Tórshavn (and thus the Faroe Islands). He was to hold this office until his death in 1953 - as long as no one before or after him.

From 1932 to 1936 and from 1940 to 1943 Danielsen was a member of parliament in Løgting, Faro . During the time of the Faroe Islands during World War II , he was (along with Kristian Djurhuus and others) one of the confidants of bailiff Carl Aage Hilbert .

For many years he was also chairman of the Færø Amts Sparekasse .
