During this time he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 1996 in the fourth round as a total of 108th player by the Detroit Red Wings , for which he however never played. In the 2000/01 season Forsander paused first with the ice hockey, before he was under contract for two years with the first division club Djurgårdens IF . After two years in France's highest hockey league , the Füchse Duisburg signed the attacker from the German ice hockey league , for whom he was on the ice for a season.
In the summer of 2007 Forsander returned to the Ligue Magnus , where he moved to the reigning champions Brûleurs de Loups de Grenoble . With Grenoble he then won the Coupe de France double and the Trophée des Champions in 2008 and the triple championship title , Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue in 2009 . Forsander then returned to his homeland and went on the ice for the Swedish fourth division club HC Dalen before moving to Tingsryds AIF , with whom he made promotion to HockeyAllsvenskan at the end of the 2009/10 season . For the 2010/11 season Forsander again signed a contract with HC Dalen, where he would play his last games before ending his active career.
