Johann Adam Osiander (medical doctor)

Johann Adam Osiander (born November 9, 1659 in Tübingen ; † May 23, 1708 ibid) was a German medic and physicist.

Life

The son of Johann Adam Osiander began studying at the University of Tübingen at the age of fourteen , where he obtained the academic degree of a master's degree in philosophy in 1676 . Promoting medical studies, he was licentiate in medicine in 1680 , went on an educational trip to Switzerland and, when he returned to Tübingen, received his doctorate on November 6, 1682 as a doctor of medicine. In 1684 he became physician in his hometown, the Tübingen office and the Bebenhausen monastery .

In 1685 he was given a professorship in medicine. In 1690 he was Barutischer personal physician and accompanied his sovereign Duke Friedrich Karl as personal physician on his campaigns. After his death in 1698 he was given the professorship of physics in Tübingen, which he held until the end of his life.

His son Johann Adam Osiander also gained importance.
