Johann Adolph Jacobi
Johann Adolph Jacobi (also Johann Adolf Jacobi ; born August 9, 1769 in Großkochberg ; † August 12, 1847 in Waltershausen ) was a Protestant theologian and pastor .
Life
Jacobi, the son of a pastor, went to the University of Göttingen to study theology and philosophy . After completing his studies, he became rector of the city school and deacon in Jena in 1797, and in 1798 he was appointed associate professor of philosophy at the university there. In 1799 Jacobi went to Ruhla as a pastor , and in 1801 he became a rural school inspector and preacher in Gotha . In 1812 he was appointed senior pastor and superintendent in Waltershausen.
1819 awarded him the Evangelical Theological Faculty of the University of Breslau the honorary doctorate in theology ( Dr. theol. Hc ).
The ministerial advisor and chief preacher in Gotha Eduard Adolf Jacobi was his son.
