Having grown up in Troisdorf , Sawinsky successfully completed an apprenticeship in a metal and machine factory. At the age of 17 he exhibited his first own products at an exhibition. With increasing perfection he manufactures doll furniture and dollhouse furnishings from tropical woods, which he packs as a puzzle . At the World Exhibition of 1904 in St. Louis , he exhibited his puzzle and puzzle games with great success. He is also represented at many trade fairs in Europe. After expanding his business in Troisdorf, he was appointed purveyor to the court by Emperor Franz-Josef at the exhibition in Vienna . In the same year he married Clara Cremer. Shortly before the start of the First World War , his wife dies. In 1915 he volunteered for military service and, thanks to his good knowledge of English and French, was employed as an interpreter in France towards the end of the war. In 1919 the technology-loving businessman founded the first cinema together with Wilhelm Mörsch in Troisdorf . On May 15, 1922 , he married Maria Rechtmann from Cologne . The occupation of the Rhineland by the French in 1923 urged him to move his toy factory to the Magarethenhöhe in Ittenbach . His brother Adolf has been a teacher in Ittenbach since 1910 . The political situation and the subsequent global economic crisis made it difficult to trade in toys and so Sawinsky invested in tourist haulage companies in the region. In 1934 he moved to Cologne with his family. After the Second World War he worked there as a real estate agent, among other things. Juice production, cattle breeding, coffee roasting and building materials trading are further business areas in which Sawinsky is active.
