Johann Baptist Demuth

Johann Baptist Demuth (born January 4, 1844 in Blieskastel , † December 19, 1918 in Speyer ) was a German physician and nutritionist .

Life

Johann Baptist Demuth studied medicine at the universities of Munich , Erlangen and Würzburg . In Munich he became a member of the Corps Franconia in 1865 . From 1868 he was an assistant doctor in the district hospital and nursing home in Frankenthal . In 1869 he was promoted to Dr. med. PhD. In 1873 he settled in Frankenthal as a general practitioner. In 1885 he was appointed royal court doctor and in 1898 royal medical advisor. From 1899 he was the royal director of the district hospital and nursing home in Frankenthal, most recently as a government chief medical officer.

Demuth wrote numerous writings on nutritional issues as well as a large number of medical articles in the Munich Medical Weekly , in the Association of Palatinate Doctors and in Friedreich's sheets for forensic medicine and medical police. He was the editor of the association gazette of the Palatinate Doctors.
