Johann Baptist Weber
Johann Baptist Weber (born January 21, 1786 in Vienna , † January 13, 1848 in Vienna) was a Catholic pastor and co-founder of the First Austrian Spar-Casse .
Life
Johann Baptist Weber was from 1810-1816 as a beneficiary at the Peterskirche in Vienna, from 1816 to 1830 pastor of the Leopoldskirche in Leopoldstadt near Vienna. Most recently he worked as the palace chaplain in Schönbrunn . He was buried in the Altmannsdorf cemetery .
meaning
In addition to his extensive social activities, the establishment of the First Austrian Spar-Casse on October 4, 1819 in the rectory of his church stands out.
He was also involved in the establishment of the Leopoldstadt secondary school in 1817, in the establishment of a poor welfare center in Leopoldstadt in 1829 and in a kindergarten in Baden in 1839 .
Because of his services, a memorial stone was dedicated to him in front of the Leopold Church in 1969. Webergasse in Vienna- Brigittenau was named after him as early as 1874 .
