Johann Bednar (* 1947 in Vienna ) is an Austrian film actor.

Life

Bednar learned the trade of machinist and welder. After completing the examination at the General Hospital, he worked from 1966 to 1973 as an autopsy assistant in the Kaiser Franz Josef Hospital and in the Institute for Forensic Medicine.

In 1973 he attended a police school and then began his police service in Vienna. After a criminal investigation course in 1978, he switched to the BPD-Schwechat and worked in the violence department. December 2008 he retired.

Bednar took private acting lessons since 1977. In addition to his work as a criminal investigation officer, he was close to films and, as time allowed, in smaller roles. Since retiring, he has had more time to gain a foothold as an actor.

Bednar is the owner of the Hobbysound recording studio in Schwechat. He confirmed himself as a composer, songwriter, author of "Anecdotes of a Kieberer". The directorial debut took place with the script for the short film The End is the Beginning .

Bednar is trained in shooting, boxing and karate. In the 1970s he was a motor sportsman for rallies and hill climbs. Since 2010 member of the Academy of Austrian Film.
