Johanna Moder (* 1979 in Graz ) is an Austrian film director and screenwriter .

life and work

Johanna Moder was born in Graz . She grew up with 2 brothers in the Mariagrün district . After graduation she moved to Vienna, where he worked for various film productions as script continuity and assistant director, while at the Vienna Film Academy in Vienna her directing studies under the direction of Wolfgang luck , Michael Haneke and Peter Patzak completed. After several short films, Johanna Moder shot her first feature film " High Performance - Mandarins Don't Lie " in the summer of 2013 . The film had its world premiere at the Max Ophüls Festival 2014 and won the audience award there.

In 2005 she received the Styria Cine Styria film grant for the submitted short film concept “The Unsolved Case” and in 2006 the Thomas Pluch script award for “Bring on the beautiful life”.
