On August 8, 1729 he was accepted among the candidates for medicine and received his doctorate under Johann Adolph Wedel with the treatise de morbis humorum on December 14, 1729 as a doctor of medicine. On February 23, 1730 he acquired the academic degree of a master's degree in philosophy and participated in the university's reading operations.

In addition, he participated in the organizational tasks of the university. He was dean of the medical faculty several times and rector of the alma mater in the winter semester of 1751 . In 1758 he was also appointed Hofrat von Sachsen Weimar.
