Johann Christoph von Wylich and Lottum

Johann Christoph Graf von Wylich and Lottum (born May 9, 1681 in Kleve ; † October 16, 1727 at Hueth Castle in Rees ) was a Prussian officer , most recently Major General , Chief of Infantry Regiment No. 25 and Dorst zu Petershagen, and heir to Huet, Wahl and Ossenberg.

Life

Johann came from the old Klevian noble family of Wylich and Lottum . He was the son of Field Marshal Philipp Karl von Wylich and Lottum and his first wife.

In 1699 he was a captain in the Brandenburg Life Guard (No. 1). He became a lieutenant colonel in his father's regiment on July 10, 1708 . On June 26, 1714 he became a colonel in Infantry Regiment No. 25 ( Schlabrendorf ). In 1718 he was appointed chief of the regiment and in 1721 major general. He died in 1727 and was buried in his Hueth Castle .

He was married to Hermine Alexandrine von Wittenhorst-Sonsfeld (* September 4, 1685, † April 23, 1745). The couple had the following children:

After the death of Johann Christoph , on September 5, 1733 , King Friedrich Wilhelm I provided the widow with a pension for the upbringing of her children.
