Friedrich Wilhelm Graf von Wylich and Lottum (born March 18, 1716 in Berlin ; † December 17, 1774 there ) was a Prussian officer , most recently major general and commander of Berlin.

Friedrich Wilhelm was the son of the Prussian major general Johann Christoph von Wylich and Lottum (1681–1727) and his wife Hermine Alexandrine Friederike Wilhelmine, born Freiin von Wittenhorst-Sonsfeld († April 17, 1747). The mother was chief stewardess to Wilhelmine von Bayreuth .

Military career

Already at the age of 16 he joined the regiment on foot "von Kröcher" of the Prussian army and took part in the First Silesian War . In 1747 he got his own company and in 1753 he was awarded a benefice near Magdeburg . In 1756 he fought at Lobositz . In 1757 he was promoted to major , in 1758 to lieutenant colonel and colonel . On July 21, 1762, he distinguished himself in the battle of Burkersdorf , where he and his regiment stormed the Leutmannsdorfer Bergschanzen. For this he was promoted to major general in 1762.

On April 7, 1763 he succeeded Tsar Peter III. as chief of the regiment on foot . In 1764 he became the commandant of Berlin, which he remained until his death. 1765 also governor of Spandau . In the same year he was accepted to Sonnenburg as a legal knight in the Order of St. John . In 1766 he received the fief of Gotteswykersham in Cleveschen from the king .

family

Wylich and Lottum had been married to Anna Dorothea, née Scherff (* January 7, 1744, † February 14, 1796) since April 18, 1763. The couple had the following children:

  • Karl Friedrich Heinrich (1767–1841), Prussian general of the infantry ∞ Sophie Luise Friederike von Lamprecht (born November 3, 1772; † February 6, 1841)
  • Friedrich Christoph Karl (* March 5, 1773; † January 30, 1801) ∞ Wilhelmine Henriette Caroline Luise von Beyer (* June 12, 1774 † May 30, 1857), daughter of the domain councilor Johann August von Beyer

The widow married the royal Prussian secret superior judicial tribunal and senior consistorial advisor von Lamprecht.
