Johann Erichson (Schulmann)

Johann Erichson (born October 24, 1700 in Sternberg , † May 26, 1779 in Starkow ) was a German theologian and schoolboy.

Life

Little is known about Erichson's education. In 1720 he enrolled at the University of Rostock to study . He turned down a professorship at the University of Kiel . In 1741 he became vice rector and soon afterwards rector of the German grammar school in Stockholm .

In 1745 he became pastor in Starkow at the St. Jürgen Church , where he worked until his death in 1779.

Works

  • Erichson published theological and educational writings in Stockholm as well as contributions to Johann Carl Dähnert's writings "Die Kritische Nachrichten" and "Die Pommersche Bibliothek".
  • He also published in the "Bibliotheca Runica, in which reliable reports are given by the writers about Runic literature" (1766).
