Johann Ernst Hohenholtz

Johann Ernst Hohenholtz , also Johannes Ernst Hohenholtz , (born August 23, 1690 in Holstein ; † December 25, 1767 in Ratzeburg ) was a German Evangelical Lutheran clergyman , most recently superintendent for the Duchy of Saxony-Lauenburg from 1744 to 1767.

Professional background

After studying High Holtz was 1618 first Magister legens at the University in Kiel .

In 1720 he came to the Ratzeburg church as a deacon and was later a member of the Lauenburg consistory as an assessor .

On July 1, 1744, he was introduced to the office of Lauenburg superintendent , which he held until his death, but because of his age, the following pastors were appointed as adjuncts from 1759 onwards:

  • 1759 Martin Eberhardt von Brincken (pastor in Mustin , later Hittbergen , then Neuhaus );
  • 1767 his son Georg Ernst Hohenholtz (pastor in Hittbergen) and also
  • 1767 Samuel Friedrich Junack (pastor in Berkenthin ).
