Johann Evangelist von Pruner

Johann (es) Evangelist Pruner , from 1906 Knight von Pruner (born February 25, 1827 in Nuremberg , † July 11, 1907 in Eichstätt ), was a German Roman Catholic theologian and capitular vicar of the diocese of Eichstätt .

Life

Pruner studied philosophy and theology in Eichstätt and Rome and was ordained a priest in 1849 .

In 1850 Georg von Oettl , Bishop of Eichstätt , appointed him sub-rain at the Eichstätter seminary and in 1852 professor at the Eichstätter Lyceum . Pruner was Subregens from 1850 to 1862, professor from 1852 to 1907 and from 1862 to 1885 Regens of the seminary and rector of the Lyceum.

In the 55 years of his teaching activity at the Eichstätter Lyceum Pruner taught the following subjects: from 1852 to 1888 and in 1890 moral theology , from 1859 to 1860, from 1862 to 1865, in 1872, in 1889 and in 1890 canon law , from 1862 to 1862 1907 pastoral theology , from 1863 to 1865 and from 1872 to 1873 pedagogy , from 1868 to 1869 dogmatics , from 1871 to 1872 homiletics , from 1871 to 1873 and from 1875 to 1877 liturgy, and from 1872 to 1873 and from 1875 to 1877 catechetics .

Under Oettls successor, Bishop Franz Leopold Freiherr von Leonrod was Pruner 1869-1889 Domkapitular , 1889-1892 Domdekan and 1892-1907 dean . After the death of Bishop Leonrod in 1905, he administered the diocese of Eichstätt as vicar capitular.

In 1906 he was raised to the personal nobility with the award of the Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Bavarian Crown .
