Johann Friedrich Beer

Johann Friedrich Beer (born March 10, 1741 in Eisfeld , † November 7, 1804 [burial] in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German miniature painter , etcher , engraver and draftsman .

Life

From 1760 Beer worked in the studio of Johann Andreas Bejmamin Nothnagel in Frankfurt am Main . In 1767 he acquired Frankfurt citizenship. He was the father of Johann Peter Beer (1782-1852), who was also a miniature painter. In 1782 he made copperplate engravings for the apology of the Edict of Tolerance for Joseph II ( tolerance patent ). His works also include a portrait of Friedrich Wilhelm II or a portrait of the 15th aviation of the airship Jean-Pierre Blanchard , during which he rose to an altitude of 6500 feet on October 3, 1785 and which is in the possession of the Historical Museum in Frankfurt is located.
