Johann Friedrich Zeller , from 1834 von Zeller , (born May 10, 1769 in Lauffen am Neckar , † March 11, 1846 in Stuttgart ) was the first Oberamtmann of the Oberamt Heilbronn .

The son of city and official physicist Christoph Matthäus Zeller in Lauffen am Neckar studied law at the University of Tübingen from 1788 to 1791 . After completing his studies, he was lawyer in Heilbronn and in 1804 took over the office of chief magistrate in the Oberamt Heilbronn, which had recently been established . In 1808 he became the Neckar Shipping Commissioner. In 1817 he moved to Esslingen am Neckar , where he was first court and finance advisor to the municipal administration section and later senior justice advisor to the court for the Neckar district . From 1822 he was chief magistrate in Stuttgart. In 1834 he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of the Württemberg Crown , with which the personal title of nobility was associated. In 1836 he took professional retirement, but was still a member of the Württemberg Chamber of Deputies for one legislative period .

He was married to Johanna Regina geb. Andreä (1773–1844), a granddaughter of the Stuttgart court medic Christian Eberhard Andreae (1706–1759). One of her children was Albert Zeller , the first director of the Winnental Sanatorium and poet of the songs of suffering . Johann Baptist Seele painted the family in 1804.
