Johann Friedrich von Bardenfleth , Danish : Johan Frederik Bardenfleth (* October 7, 1740 , † January 27, 1811 ), was a Danish general .

Life

Johann Friedrich was a member of the Bremen- Danish noble family Bardenfleth. His parents were the Danish colonel and knight of the Dannebrogord, Johann Friedrich von Bardenfleth (1695–1771) and Anna Elisabeth Lasson (1715–1772).

career

Bardenfleth joined his father's regiment as a cadet at the age of 11 . At the age of 19 he was Rittmeister and in 1765 became a second major. He then switched first to the Jutland cuirassier regiment and again to the Sealand cavalry regiment. He received his promotion to lieutenant colonel in 1779 and to colonel in 1784. On December 11, 1789 he became chief of the Baudissin Cavalry Regiment .

Bardenfleth also advanced to major general in 1789, possibly later lieutenant general and was commanding general in Nørrejylland under Carl von Hessen .

In 1808 he was accepted into the Dannebrogden .

Like father and son, he was master of Harritslevgård.

Bardenfleth married Sophie Magdalena von Løvenørn (1741–1786) in their first marriage in 1771, and their second marriage in 1787 with Ingeborg Dorothea von Løvenørn (1744–1814), both daughters of the Danish conference councilor Friedrich von Løvenørn and Friederike Sophie von Holsten . He left several children including:

  • Johann Friedrich von Bardenfleth (1772–1833), Danish Rear Admiral and Governor General in the West Indies ∞ Auguste Wilhelmine von Hellfried (1775–1861)
  • Carl von Bardenfleth (1781–1855), Danish lieutenant general and commandant of Rendsburg ∞ Elisabeth Charlotte von Schmidten (1786–1865)
  • Friedrich von Bardenfleth (1781–1852), Danish Lieutenant General ∞ Sophie von Ewald (1792–1829)
